In the video posted by Musk, a narrator uses Harris' voice, saying things like, 'I, Kamala Harris, am the Democratic presidential candidate because Joe Biden finally revealed his dementia in the debate,' and 'I was chosen because I'm a woman and a person of color, the ultimate diversity hire. So if you criticize anything, I claim you're sexist and racist.' The content is quite radical.

This movie was posted by an X user named Mr Reagan. This is an edited version of the following movie released by Mr Harris, with narration by Mr Harris' voice reproduced by AI. Of course, Mr Harris did not actually say the radical content mentioned above.

Mr Reagan posted the video with the comment 'Kamala Harris Campaign Ad PARODY,' but Mr Musk simply added the comment 'This is amazing🤣' without mentioning that it was a parody video.

Posting a parody of a political ad used in a campaign without clearly identifying it as a parody clearly violates X's platform policies. A community note was also attached to Musk's post, suggesting that Musk's post be labeled.

Mia Ellenberg, a spokeswoman for Harris' campaign, said in a statement, 'We believe what the American people want is real freedom, opportunity and security, the kind of thing Vice President Harris offers, not the lies engineered by Musk and Trump.'

'Generative AI companies that make voice cloning tools and other AI tools available to the public should do more to ensure their services are not used in ways that harm people and our democracy,' said Hany Farid, a digital forensic expert at the University of California, Berkeley.

'This is clearly not a joke. Most people who see this wouldn't think it's a joke. It's not good, but it's good enough,' said Rob Weissman, co-executive director of the human rights group Public Citizen, calling for regulation of generative AI.
