Logitech, a PC peripheral manufacturer, has announced the launch of the MX Ink , a stylus pen that can be used with the Meta Quest mixed reality (MR) headset. Logitech explains that it worked with Meta to develop MX Ink as an intuitive and precise tool that can be used with MR headsets.

This is MX Ink. The pen stand-like thing is the MX Ink Well, which is a charging stand.
This is a stylus pen that can be used with Meta's mixed reality headset, Meta Quest. Logitech describes MX Ink as 'feeling like a familiar pen, and like a real pen or pencil, the pressure-sensitive tip works on a variety of physical surfaces, so you can write and sketch more naturally in a variety of mixed reality applications without missing a single line or detail.'
It is a tool to make MR applications more intuitive and accurate, and users can control the thickness of the lines they draw by varying the strength of their grip on the MX Ink.
It is now possible to trace lines in the real world and draw smooth curves that would be difficult to draw freehand or with a dedicated controller.
Handwritten text is also much easier to read.

MX Ink pairs with the Meta Quest via the Meta Quest app, allowing you to easily switch between the Meta Quest controller and MX Ink without interrupting your workflow. At the time of writing, MX Ink is only compatible with Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 2.
'MX Ink is the first input device for the Meta Quest ecosystem, and we believe Meta users will benefit from having such a complementary tool that is supported by many applications,' said Furhan Zafar, vice president of ongoing product operations and accessories at Meta.
MX Ink can also be used in conjunction with MX Mat, a dedicated drawing environment.
