I tried using Yamazen's 'OPEN TOASTER' toaster oven, which is super easy to clean by removing all the doors
If left unattended after cooking in a toaster oven, breadcrumbs and fried food residue will not only leave dirt, but can also lead to fires and breakdowns. However, ovens are difficult to wipe clean because the door is not very large and the internal structure is not flat. Yamazen's ' OPEN TOASTER ' solves this problem, and it is said that not only the mesh and tray but also the front and rear doors can be easily removed for easy cleaning, so we tried it out from cooking to cleaning.
Special feature: Easy to clean open toaster (OPEN TOASTER) | Yamazen product information site | YAMAZEN BOOK
The OPEN TOASTER package looks like this.
When I opened the box, there was an instruction manual attached.
I took out the OPEN TOASTER and the accompanying tray. The OPEN TOASTER is securely protected with cushioning material and a plastic bag.
I took out the OPEN TOASTER. The OPEN TOASTER comes in two colors: a white-based 'grège' and a black-based 'blue-gray.' I used the blue-gray this time.
On the top of the cooker are written warnings, as well as the set temperatures and cooking times for the main ingredients.
The back looks like this:
There are four legs on the bottom, and the two legs on the front side (top of the image) have anti-slip pads.
Both sides have the same design, but on the right side of the front there is a sticker with a contact number and product number.
The size of the OPEN TOASTER is 35.5 cm wide, 23 cm high, 33 cm deep, and weighs 3.9 kg. The actual measurement of the cooking part is about 9 cm, and the following is a comparison with the iPhone 13, which is 14.6 cm high.
The width and depth of the cooking area are both approximately 16cm. According to the manual, it can toast four slices of bread at the same time.
At the bottom left of the front is a knob that allows you to adjust the temperature from 80 degrees to 250 degrees.
On the right side is a timer that determines the cooking time, which can be set up to 30 minutes.
The OPEN TOASTER has two heaters on the bottom and one on the top, so you can cook food on both sides. The bottom heater has a silver cover as shown in the image below, so you don't have to worry about damaging the heater when wiping down the inside.
I tried arranging some toast in it and it fit perfectly, just as described.
According to the cooking guide on the top of the pan, bread should be cooked at 250 degrees for 5 minutes, so I turned the knob on the left to adjust it to 250 degrees.
Turn the time knob and cooking will begin.
The 'Zee' sound continues during cooking. You can see how much sound it makes during cooking and when cooking is complete by watching the following movie.
When I took the bread out after the cooking time was over, it was a little burnt on the outside but still nice and crispy.
The bread placed at the back was also toasted evenly on both sides.
After toasting the bread, it got dirty with breadcrumbs, so I actually took the OPEN TOASTER apart to clean it. First, the grill is designed to go through the hook on the front door, so pull it forward to remove it from the hook.
The back side is fixed by hooking it onto a thin rod, so this also needs to be removed.
I was able to remove the net.
Next, remove the door. As shown in the red frame in the image below, there is a thin groove on the left side of the door.
The door can be easily removed by simply aligning it with the groove and lifting it up.
The door has been removed from the main unit. It is not recommended to wash the door, but removing it will make it easier to wipe it down.
In addition, the back can also be opened. There is a handle-like protrusion, so just hook your finger there and lift it up.
The rear door does not need to be removed, but rather swings open.
The crumb tray can also be removed from the bottom of the unit, making it easy to dispose of.
It could be disassembled as shown in the image below.
Removing the door makes it much easier to wipe down the door itself and the contents. Also, since the heater is covered when cleaning the contents, there is no need to worry about getting burned by the heater that is still hot or damaging the fragile heater.
Reassembling it after cleaning is easy, just follow the steps in reverse. Insert the crumb tray into the space underneath the unit.
The rear door fits perfectly into place with just a lift.
The rear door can be secured by inserting the protrusion into the groove, so be careful to insert it firmly.
Next, attach the net. The hook on the back of the net should hook onto the metal bar at the back of the unit.
After inserting the net all the way in, pull it toward you so that the hooks on both sides catch on the stick and you're done.
For the front door, first insert the right side into the small hole.
Next, tilt the door to the right so that it fits over the groove on the left side.
The front door was also easy to install. It's easy to lift and remove, but doesn't feel unstable at all when opening and closing it.
Finally, with the front door half open, pull the net forward to attach the net hooks to the hooks on the door to complete assembly.
My impression after using the OPEN TOASTER was that it felt compact when I first took it out, but the cooking area was spacious and I was able to toast four slices of bread with no trouble. Also, the disassembly process was surprisingly easy, and the front door in particular can be removed, making it very easy to clean both the door and the inside, so I recommend it for people who like to clean it frequently after cooking.
