The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are models announced in 2014, and are thinner and have a slightly rounder shape than their predecessors, support Apple Pay for the first time, and improve performance, graphics, and camera. The appeal was that the performance had been enhanced. After the sale, Apple also revealed that

it had received the most reservations in 24 hours, the most ever for an iPhone.

Seven years have passed since sales of the iPhone 6 Plus were discontinued, so Apple has deemed the product an obsolete product. This will remove official support for the hardware and prevent third-party vendors from ordering parts.

Please note that the iPhone 6 has been on sale longer than the iPhone 6 Plus, so it is not yet considered an obsolete product.

On the software side, support for iOS 13, the last OS that was compatible with both models, ended in 2019.

Additionally, Apple has designated

the iPad Mini 4 , which was released in 2015, as a 'vintage product' as of April 1, 2024. Apple guarantees each device a minimum of five years of repair service, but may support up to seven years depending on parts availability. Products that fall under this '5 to 7 years' period are considered vintage products.

Obsolete products and vintage products can also be found on the Japanese site below. The information should be common worldwide, but at the time of writing the article, information on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Mini 4 was not listed.
