Mr. Selig often watches YouTube, so he was disappointed that YouTube announced that not only would it not develop an app for Apple Vision Pro, but it would also disable the option to load iPad apps. Although he could watch YouTube using Safari, Selig still wanted an app that was optimized for Apple Vision Pro.
Mr. Selig completed the YouTube viewing application ``Juno for YouTube'' by ``writing code like crazy'' for a week. This app uses a method of loading movies through the embedded API in the web view, and ads will also be played if you are not subscribed to YouTube Premium. Mr. Selig said, ``Our goal was not to offend Google.''
The size of the player changes automatically for each movie, so you can always play it with the correct aspect ratio. Please note that the poster of the movie may have disabled embedded playback, in which case the website will be displayed.
Browsing is based on a normal website, but the background is made semi-transparent to reduce the feeling of pressure, and the contrast and menus have been adjusted to match Apple Vision Pro.
Juno is available on the App Store and is a one-time purchase app for $ 5 (about 740 yen).

Although YouTube once stated that there are no plans to develop an app for Apple Vision Pro, it changed its position on February 5, 2024. However, at the time of writing the article, it is at the stage of ``positive consideration'', and it seems unlikely that the official app will be released soon.
