I tried making oden using Thermos' vacuum insulation cooker ``Shuttle Chef'', which cooks with residual heat just by placing it in a heating and insulation container.

The vacuum thermal cooking device ' Shuttle Chef ' sold by Thermos, which is known for its hot and cold containers, automatically preheats and cooks by placing a heated cooking pot in the thermal container. This time I used such a shuttle chef to make oden.

The ingredients prepared for making oden look like this.

Start by making boiled eggs before cooking.

Slice the radish into rounds, peel it, and then make cross-shaped cuts.

After peeling the carrots, cut into pieces.

I also peeled the potatoes and cut them into bite-sized pieces.

Add the oden stock to the water, then add the peeled boiled eggs and the ingredients you cut earlier.

Boil until boiling.

Once it boils completely, close the lid and heat for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and place the cooking pot in an insulated container.

Close the lid of the thermal container and wait for about 1 hour.

It will be completed in about 1 hour.

When you open the lid, it looks like this.

Arrange on a plate and it's done.

Even though I had left it off the heat, the radish, carrots, and potatoes were so soft that I could easily cut them with chopsticks. Below is a video showing the situation.

When you eat it, you can feel the gentle sweetness from the carrots and potatoes, and the eggs mix well with the oden stock. However, the taste of the daikon radish is one step further, and the editorial staff who sampled it said, ``Maybe the flavor will soak in even more depending on how long you leave it in the heat-insulating container and how you store it.'' Still, we received very high praise for the fact that we were able to create high-quality oden just by leaving it for an hour without having to check the heat.
