AirJet Continues To Innovate Laptop Cooling - YouTube
The cooling system 'AirJet' developed by Frore is one of the products called 'solid state active cooling chips', and the size is only 27.5 mm long x 41.5 mm wide x 2.8 mm thick, and it can be installed in a typical notebook PC. It is very small compared to other fans. Therefore, it can fit inside a 15-inch MacBook Air equipped with an M2 chip that measures 23.76 cm long x 34.04 cm wide x 1.15 cm thick.
AirJet's mechanism is that a special membrane installed inside vibrates at ultrasonic frequencies to generate airflow and exhaust the heat inside the PC through the ventilation holes.
The mechanism of AirJet is explained in detail in the following article.
In Frore's demo, the Cinebendh R23 benchmark results on a pre-AirJet M2-equipped 15-inch MacBook Air were 7% lower than the M2-equipped MacBook Pro. However, when AirJet was installed on the M2-equipped 15-inch MacBook Air, the Cinebench R23 benchmark results were almost the same as the M2-equipped MacBook Pro.
Frore also added an air intake near the MacBook Air's hinge and used the speaker holes as exhaust ports to increase heat circulation efficiency.
Regarding the AirJet, Frore said, ``It is not originally a consumer product, and there are no plans to manufacture a consumer kit. This demo on the MacBook Air is just a proof of concept for the AirJet. By introducing AirJet instead, that space could be used for purposes such as battery expansion.'
