I ate dal bhat from Balpipal, a Nepalese restaurant where the flavorful soup of beans increases your appetite.
'Dal Bhat' is a staple Nepalese dish that includes bean soup, rice, and pickles. Although it looks like ``bean curry,'' it is something else, and there are many cases where it is not served at the ``Indian/Nepalese restaurants'' you see around town. There is a restaurant in Osaka City's Chuo Ward called

Nepali Restaurant Valpipal is located about 5 minutes walk from Ibarakishi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.
At the ' Ibaraki Hankyu Hondori Shopping Street ' on the west side of the station, turn right at the Food Net Mart and head north.
Turn left at the street in front of the greengrocer.
Past the butcher shop, fish shop, etc., you will find ``Nepali Cuisine Barpipal'' at the far end of the yellow tent.
The main menu is like this, in addition to the Dal Bhat set, there are daily special spice curry, daily special pork curry, shrimp curry, etc.
There are usually 3 to 4 types of spice curry that change daily.
This is the Dalbert set.
Dal is a bean soup. Multiple beans are used, and the seasoning varies slightly depending on the day.
This day it had tomatoes.
The tarkari (side dishes) also change daily, and on this day it was radish, chive, and tomato achar, and jiraal (potato stir-fried with cumin).
Both dal and curry are basically not spicy, so you can adjust the spiciness by yourself using this chutney.
Bhat (rice) is basmati rice. It is also possible to change to 2 tandoori rotis.
Pour the soup all at once over the rice, mix and eat.
It doesn't have a sharp taste compared to curry, but the umami of the beans mixes with the taste of tomatoes and garlic, and the rice goes smoothly into your stomach. It's very nutritious and can be eaten easily even when you don't have much of an appetite.
Side menus include tandoori chicken, kabab, and chicken tikka.
