I went to 'Dal Bhat Shokudo Mustanta Calichuro' where you can eat 'Dal Bhat' which is a representative of Nepalese cuisine and slightly different from curry

There are many cases where Nepalese people are working at 'Indian restaurants' and 'Indian curry restaurants' in Japan, and Nepalese dishes are mixed in one corner of the menu. However, compared to the number of curry shops, there are not so many restaurants where you can eat dal bhat, a typical home-cooked dish of Nepal.

In Osaka, there is a restaurant called ' Dal Bhat Shokudo ' that mainly serves Dal Bhat, so I went to eat it.

The location is here, 6-13-6 Tanimachi, Chuo-ku.

The nearest station is Tanimachi 6-chome Station on the Osaka Metro. Go out from exit 4 to the ground and head south (left side of the photo).

There is a downhill alley like this soon, so go down.

Taoyuan Park is on the right. When you come to that corner, turn right.

Just in front of the park there is 'Dalbert Shokudo Mustanta Calichuro'.

Signs of 'Spice Hall' and 'Dalbat Cafeteria' were hanging.

On the surface of the menu was an explanation of what Dalbat is.

The dal bart menu looks like this. There are 3 types of dal bhat: 1 kind of curry + dal bhat, 2 kinds of curry + dal bhat, 3 kinds of curry + dal bhat. There are three curries: chicken curry, goat curry, and weekly curry. In addition, the price part is 'JPY / Rs' and Japanese yen and Nepalese rupees are written together. The Japanese yen and Nepalese rupee rates are roughly 1 yen = 1 rupee, so either is OK.

The back of the menu is how to taste dal bhat.

This time I ordered 'Special Dal Bart' with 3 types of curry.

Curry from left to right: chicken, weekly mackerel, and goat.

This is Dal. It's bean soup.

Saag (stir-fried green vegetables with spices) and tarkari (side dish).

Various achar.

I will eat basmati rice with dal and curry. The dal has almost no spiciness, and you can enjoy the graininess of the coarse beans and the light yet rich flavor of the beans. It's a smooth rice with soup, and it's a taste you won't get tired of eating like every day.

Chicken curry contains a large amount of chicken. It is characterized by its plump texture. Plenty of umami is melting into the oil.

Goat has a strong taste. The meat is also harder, and it feels like a wild curry.

Weekly mackerel curry. It is a salty curry with a melty texture near the skin and the curry soaking into the body.

It's ok to mix everything and eat. A different taste spreads in your mouth with each bite. In general, the amount of spices used is modest and there are no sharp parts, and the impression is that you can taste the ingredients. In addition, in Nepal, it is common for Dal Bhat to eat without using a spoon, and people who eat by hand can have rice and dal instead.

Tatochiya (hot chai) looks like this. Sweetness is effective from the beginning, it is a type without additional sugar.

Dessert zu zu dau is a name that means 'King of Yogurt'. It is a product that made sweet yogurt very thick. In Nepal, it is known as a specialty of Bhaktapur.

In addition, you can also order 'Takari tribe snacks' at night business.

This is Nepalese and Tibetan dumplings 'Momo'. It is made from chicken or pork, wrapped in a thick skin and eaten with hot and sour chutney. The soup comes out quickly and goes great with beer.

Butane (hormone in mutton). Crunchy and strong offal stir-fried with salt and spices, one piece goes well with sake.

If you are familiar with Nepal, you may have heard the name 'Mustanta Kalichuro', but this is the name of a restaurant in Thamel, the center of Kathmandu, and it is in '

Chikyu no Arukikata Nepal and Himalaya Trekking '. A shop that is also published. The owner of 'Dal Bhat Shokudo Mustangakarichuro' used to work at this Mustangakarichuro, so you can eat food in Japan that is very similar to what you would find in a restaurant in Nepal.

'Dalbert Shokudo Mustanga Calichuro' is closed on Tuesdays, and is open from 11:30 to 15:00 in the daytime and from 17:30 to 21:00 at night.
