Wilson develops a ``basketball that bounces well even though it is full of holes'' made with a 3D printer

Wilson, who sells a lot of sports equipment, has revealed that he is working on a new basketball design that can be created with 3D printing. The newly designed ball is made of resin and has a structure with many holes, but it seems that the weight and elasticity are almost the same as a normal basketball.

Wilson has teamed up with EOS , which provides 3D printing technology for the aerospace and medical industries, to produce a prototype of the newly designed ball ' Airless '.

The inside of the Airless is hollow, and the surface is covered with a layer of finely shaped hexagonal resin. Air can pass freely inside, no need to inject air. It seems that the weight, size, repulsive force, etc. are almost the same as a normal basketball.

It can also be dyed in various colors, and a prototype with a full black dye has already been released at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

Wilson plans to continue developing and refining the design, saying, 'There's still work to do before it's ready for use on courts around the world, but we're excited about the possibilities this ball represents.' and future prospects.
