Azure OpenAI, released by Microsoft in November 2021, is a cloud service that provides access to AI such as GPT-3.5 and DALL-E 2, which was previously only available to a limited number of customers. OpenAI's AI is already being used to summarize customer service tickets and generate content to attract shoppers .

In a blog post on January 16, 2023, Microsoft announced that it would make Azure OpenAI publicly available. This will enable even more customers to use OpenAI's AI, but Microsoft has implemented its own protective measures in accordance with its principles of responsible AI, requiring developers to describe their intended use cases and applications when requesting access. The company also stated that it constantly monitors content input to or generated by the service with content filters that detect violent or hateful content.

Additionally, it was announced that access to ChatGPT, a conversational AI, will soon be available via Azure OpenAI. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also tweeted, 'ChatGPT will soon be available in the Azure OpenAI service, now generally available, to help customers apply the world's most advanced AI models to their business requirements.'
