Since the iPhone 7, Apple has removed the headphone jack from major products. At the time of the announcement, Apple's decision surprised the entire industry, and there were many voices of criticism. For example, Samsung, a competing company that develops the Galaxy series, has repeatedly issued advertisements that ridicule the abolition of the iPhone's headphone jack, but Samsung has eliminated the earphone jack from the Galaxy S20 as a result.

Google also developed an Apple-like advertisement that `` Pixel 5a has a headphone jack unlike the iPhone,'' but after all, Pixel 6a eliminates the headphone jack.

As a reason why Apple has abolished the headphone jack, the company cites 'Lightning is superior as an audio standard'. He also says that removing the headphone jack has made room for more components inside the device.

Some analysts and journalists have argued that Apple did away with the headphone jack to sell its Beats by Dre line of wireless headphones. However, Apple didn't quietly eliminate the headphone jack, but rather featured it as a selling point for the iPhone 7 at its 2016 product launch.

'Given the huge success of AirPods and other wireless earbuds/headphones today, it's hard to argue that Apple made a mistake in eliminating the headphone jack in 2016,' AppleInsider wrote. I'm here. At the same time, ``Today's advances in smartphone technology can be attributed, at least in part, to the elimination of obsolete standards.''

Of course, wireless earbuds/headphones are often relatively expensive compared to their wired counterparts, so some argue that a headphone jack would be a simpler and cheaper solution for consumers. Wired earphones/headphones have less delay than wireless ones, so wired is better if you want better sound quality.

But these positives don't outweigh the benefits of eliminating the headphone jack, either for Apple or consumers, AppleInsider said. Looking across the industry today, most manufacturers have done the same with Apple, eliminating headphone jacks, and others simply took the time to understand Apple's idea, AppleInsider said.
