◆ Improvement of the function that the download panel opens automatically
Firefox automatically opens the download panel when you download a file, but this behavior can be annoying to some people.

Therefore, it is now possible to disable the automatic opening of the download panel by setting. There is an item 'Display the panel at the start of download' in the pop-up menu that appears when you right-click the download button, and you can enable / disable this function by turning this check on / off.

◆ Adjustment of ETP Strict mode
When navigating a site in ETP's Strict mode , query parameter tracking is now reduced.

◆ Addition of Picture-in-Picture function when using streaming service
Picture-in-Picture subtitles and captions are now available on streaming services such as HBO Max , Funimation , Dailymotion , Tubi, Disney + Hotstar , and Sony LIV . This makes it possible to watch video content with subtitles and captions on the sub screen fixed to the corner of the screen while viewing the app or content on the main screen.

◆ Fixed a bug of screen reader linkage in Firefox for Windows
The screen reader is a function that reads out the contents displayed on the screen and is an indispensable tool for the visually impaired, but when using the screen reader in Firefox for Windows, the operation to activate the element to be read out is performed. However, it could fail to activate, or activate an unintended element or another application. This bug has been fixed in this release.

◆ Audio decoding process separation
Following the overhaul of the sandbox for the utility process, the isolation of the audio decoding process has improved. This minimizes the impact on processes outside the sandbox, even if the audio decode is attacked by a malicious third party.

◆ Addition of development tool functions
You can now filter stylesheets in the Style Editor tab of the development tools.

You can see that the stylesheet is filtered by the string entered in the edit box with the filter icon.

When developing a site that loads many stylesheets, it seems that it will be easier to understand the stylesheets by performing appropriate filtering.

◆ Addition of WebAssembly execution limit by CSP
Support for Content-Security-Policy (CSP) integration for WebAssembly . Web pages that contain CSPs that restrict scripts will not run WebAssembly unless you use the new 'wasm-unsafe-eval' keyword in your policy (or 'unsafe-eval' if you're not limited to WebAssembly).

◆ Streams API related
All of the Streams API interfaces ReadableStream , TransformStream , and WritableStream can now be transferred. By piped from ReadableStream to WritableStream, you can now perform the conversion on each chunk.

Firefox 102 also contains 19 security bug fixes .

The next major version, 'Firefox 103,' will be released on July 26, 2022, local time.
