During his tenure at Intel, Mr. Weiss worked on the development of dual-core architecture and received the highest award and achievement award in the company. He was the leader in the development team for the 2nd generation Core processor 'Sandy Bridge' and the 6th generation Core processor 'Skylake'.

For the last four years, he has left Intel to become Mellanox's vice president of silicon engineering under the umbrella of NVIDIA.

The return to Intel follows the re-employment of veteran architects by Pat Gelsinger, who became the new CEO from February 2021. Prior to Weiss, Glenn Hilton and Sunil Shenoy have returned.
