'GIGAZINE Manga Award' Recruitment started in January 2020 & top drawing making looks like this

At the end of 2019, we released an illustration book that summarizes the 12 illustrations that were published as 'top drawings' of the Manga Award in 2019 and their making into one book. In addition, from this year, we have posted a poster to notify Kogakuen Girls' High School in Osaka City about the recruitment of the Manga Award. The poster uses the illustration by Macchoko from the 'Top Drawing' in August 2019. As a result of printing each paper such as glossy paper and matte paper, we decided to use glossy paper with a bright illustration.

◆ January 2020 GIGAZINE Manga Award Top Drawing Illustration
The top illustration for January 2020 was provided by Mr. Zero . A fantasy illustration with exciting elements all over. The dazzling sunlight makes us feel the beginning of a new year.
Below is the making of the illustration.
The first rough I got. 'First of all, in order to avoid major corrections at the color rough stage, I sent a large rough that summarizes the rough image of the composition and theme. Please give me an overall position, background atmosphere, perspective etc. Reflect it and proceed to color rough.''
Jizero 'Since it was January, I wanted to draw an illustration with a bright sunrise. I included a theme such as my favorite woman in armor, cloth, and city, and was aware of the composition that felt a sense of distance. At that point, I decided about the main color and light source.
Jizero: I will prepare a line drawing based on the rough. I will roughly draw with a slightly rough pen. I will also put a touch where there is a strong texture image. When the line drawing is finished, next time Is divided into characters, background 1, background 2 and masks.'
Zizero: We are working on shade coloring. We decide the impression and texture of the object in monotone, not in color, so that you can see the object in black and white while being aware of the atmosphere and the distance between objects. I will paint it on.'
Jizero 'I will add the color on the additive layer with reference to the color rough. It is still dull overall, but if it is too bright here, the color will fly away, so I will adjust the whole in a dark state.'
Jizero: While checking the overall impression, I will proceed so as not to overdraw the parts. Be careful not to integrate the background color and the character too much.
Jizero 'I'm going to add effects to the finish. Also, I wanted to make it look like it was flying in the wind, so I tried applying a glow effect to the fabric. After that, I adjusted it until I liked it and it was completed.'

・There is no strict deadline and it is easy to schedule
-No restrictions on genre or target, anything is OK if it is interesting
・Completion of assistant who can entrust you with color painting and background (no need to pay your own expenses)
・Because it is a young label, opinions and requests can be passed easily like a venture company!

・Basic conditions:
・It is assumed that it can be read on a smartphone (no spreads, vertical scrolling standard)
・Full color, full digital (black and white are treated as 'original')
・The genre is free and the completed manuscript of 'Episode 1' and its making materials . ・Review process:
After the first selection by the editorial department, the following screening process is planned.
Stage 1: GIGAZINE Secret Club Evaluation that can be viewed only by members and evaluation by the editorial department including making materials

Stage 2: Examination after creating additional necessary items such as 'Episode 1 manuscript' and 'Plot to final episode' in a format that is more serialized. At the stage we have reached this point, we promise to serialize in some form or another.

Final stage: Serialized manuscript will be judged by the GIGAZINE editor-in-chief + GIGAZINE secret club member's evaluation + GIGAZINE serialized writers will judge the guests and determine the grand prize winner overall. We will assure serialization when the final stage is reached.
・Reward:
To commemorate the new development of GIGAZINE Manga from March 2020, the rewards including the prize amount have been renewed as follows. It is clarified, including the question 'How far can I proceed to serialize?' so please do not miss it. All passed the first screening and selected for the first stage:

◆Original script recruitment guidelines
-In addition to the first episode manuscript , prepare the plot (synopsis) from the first episode to the last episode . Synopsis Please describe in detail the flow of the whole work, from 100 to 800 characters, and write it on the first page of the manuscript.
・In the first screening, we will look at the fun of a simple story and the completeness of one story. If you proceed from the second screening to the final screening, we will judge whether you can consistently create a script written in G up to the final story, in consideration of actually creating the original manga.
・In the case of 'Original only' and only characters are applied, it is okay if you paste the text in the Google document and then enter the address of the shared link in the application form. In that case, please do not edit the document after applying.
