How far is the figurative model with 3D printers? Progress in Digital Forming and 3D Printing Technology Realized with One-fes
Progress in 3D printing technology is tremendous, already pretty high quality figures can be made using 3D printers. In one festival, we visited ZBrush which is a tool for producing 3D data, Formlabs of 3D printers, Qholia, ZORTRAX etc. We had booths.
◆ZBrush(Modeling tool)
First to ZBrush 's booth. I was preparing because it was still open.
Hatsune Miku who was already on standby was taken.
It is a quality that I can not believe was made with a 3D printer.
It is an example of a work made using ZBrushCore.
The data that was the output source was also exhibited. With ZBrushCore you can easily create these accessories.
You can easily start using ZBrushCore because the primer has been published.
A stand with a logo was distributed to the booth where the work using ZBrush was placed.
In the afternoon a stage event was introduced to introduce how to use ZBrush. The state of the lecture is on YouTube. The state of the lecture introducing several works made with ZBrush is from the following movie.
"About Hobby Japan interview plan interactive project digital modeling example" Digital prototype master apprentice Mikan (Mikan) | Hobby Japan editor Daisuke Ito
A lecture for beginners creating models of mugs while explaining the function of ZBrush.
"Using ZBrush Core to make in 40 minutes? Original goods" Nobuaki Fukui (ZBrush Core Club)
There was also a lecture from Intermediate to Advanced by Toma Roussel, senior marketing director of Pixologic, which is developing ZBrush.
"About making digital figures done with ZBrush 4R8" Toma Roussel (Pixologic Senior Marketing Director)
The person on the right is Toma Roussel, and on the left is the interpreter.
It was detailed introducing the procedure until actually completing one work.
Add irregularities to the face.
A rough person 's shape can be easily created by using Zsphere.
Expression of hands is delicate and complicated, so when deadlines are approaching, it was said that it is better to stick together the data you've made in advance.
I put my hands together.
Try to actually output the model and correct the funny part.
Seams have appeared in the hand part. When making it into a garage kit, further modifications are required to prevent such seams from appearing.
If you output your face as it is ...
In this way, support marks (burrs) will remain on the surface. To prevent such traces from appearing on the table, how to divide the parts by imagining how to put out the burrs at the time of output is the arm's showroom.
In the case of the fuselage, there are techniques to reduce the resin used.
Unlike resin, 3D output is OK even if there is a hollow inside. By making cavities inside, economical as it can reduce the amount of resin used.
It was outputted with "3D 2" of the 3D printer. Since the uncured resin remains on the surface after the output of the photocurable resin, clean it with alcohol.
The state of actual production can be confirmed with the movie on Toma Roussel's page of Pixologic's official site below.

◆Formlabs(3D printer maker)
In the booth of Formlabs there were exhibits of characters and gravita radiation emitting devices appearing in BLAME! Made using Form 2.
Before the booth is a sign of BLAME !.
There was a gravitational radiation emission device outputted by a 3D printer. Since it can not be output in the air during output, support is added below.
The 3D printer Form 2 developed by Formlabs is exhibited.
Is this Luke?
It is stunning modeling. The notch visible in the lower left is the design intended as such.
It is no exaggeration to say that there are no stacking traces unique to 3D printers.
Bullets were also output.
Support is attached to the head of the bullet.
It seems to me that the letter Form 2 comes in behind.
There are also cases for Raspberry Pi.
Output material with properties like rubber. Flexible resin material is used.
Those with print coat on surface coat ... ... and this is a real silver.Lost wax castingIt was made in the form 2 of the casting prototype was output.
The ring outputted by Form 2 was distributed free of charge.
A skull design is given.
This is the cube output on Form 2. It is translucent as cloudy ... ...
When polishing with an abrasive, it becomes clean and transparent. It seems that polishing has been asked to professionals.
Demonstration of secondary curing was also performed. It is a process to remove the surface stickiness by applying ultraviolet rays.
Flags were distributed to the booth exhibiting works outputted by Form 2, "Outputted on Form 2!"
An actual product example was displayed on the "Mystique Design" booth next to Formlabs.
The one on the left was output on Form 2. It was a product that the content of SNS was printed on thermal paper and comes out.
◆Wacom(Pentab Maker)
At Wacom's booth there is a gravitational radiation emitting device output on Form 2.
Similarly, Wacom 's booth has Sanakan' s 3D data set up so that it can be edited.
◆Qholia(3D printer)
I came to the booth of Qholia. Although Qhoila is a later 3D printer, there is a feature that almost no laminated marks remain even though the thermal lamination method is adopted.
Printed materials for testing the performance of 3D printers are displayed.
It seems that we output data on the following site.
Test your 3D printer! By ctrlV - Thingiverse
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:704409
An object with an angle is very difficult to output, but it is outputting cleanly.
Prints were on display.
You can also output such small ones.
Even if it approaches so far, no stack trace will be visible.
Some of the works were on sale.
◆Zortrax(3D printer)
I came to the booth of Zortrax.
Complex shaping mechanism and ...
The body of Zortrax is exhibited.
I was demonstrating the output. Silicone rubber is wrapped so as not to burn your hand hitting the output part.
It is a way of entering material. An adapter was attached so that the control cable would not be disconnected.
This is a part that suppresses rattling of the filament.
It is like this when a filament is attached.
◆ORIGINALMIND(Molding machine)
At the ORIGINALMIND booth INARI demonstration was taking place.
I was able to actually use INARI.
Putting the material and defeating the lever ......
Material is extruded.
Remove the silver parts ... ...
Opening the lid was a mold.
The molded parts are removed. In this way, if there is a mold, the same parts can be mass-produced easily.
There were a lot of parts and molds made in this way.
Those using elastomeric material.
You can also mold soft parts that can be bent by hand.
There was also a machine to make the mold. It is said to be KitMill Qt 100 ™ of CNC milling machine. It is 198,000 yen including tax.
There are also large equipment. The following 'KitMill AST 200' is 638,000 yen including tax.
Even if you do not make the mold yourself, if you send 3D data to DMM.make 3D PRINT you can make it instead. When asking DMM.make for the output of this type, it says that it took 8339 yen for acrylic type and 20,558 yen for titanium type.

Witnessing the beauty of shaping with the 3D printer of the one-fest booth, digital figures of figures are expected to increase more and more in the future under the favorable condition that the performance of 3D printers improves and the price declines.
