'White beard's cream puff workshop' where you can eat cream puffs in the shape of Totoro was a shop that got lost in the story

' White Beard's Cream Puff Factory ' is a shop that sells cream puffs in the shape of a small Totoro that looks like it jumped out of the movie '

My Neighbor Totoro ' that has been loved since it was released in 1988. . I was curious about what kind of cream puffs there are, so I actually went to the store.

Whitebeard's Cream Puff Factory is located at 5-3-1 Daita, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.

A few minutes' walk from Setagaya-Daita Station on the Odakyu Line, there is a white beard cream puff factory in a residential area, but the way to the shop is already the atmosphere of the Ghibli world.

I found a brick building in a lot of trees. This is Shirahige's Cream Puff Factory.

A small Totoro on the signboard. White hydrangeas are blooming around the signboard.

A sign above the window. A pig cook with a white beard was drawn here.

There is a white beard cream puff workshop on the first floor of the building, and the second floor is a cafe called TOLO COFFEE & BAKERY . White beard's cream puff workshop is only for takeout, but the puff cream can be eaten at TOLO COFFEE & BAKERY.

The shop opens at 10:30. When the door opened, the first thing that caught my eye was a staircase with a gentle curve.

As soon as I entered, next to the entrance door ......

Goods related to My Neighbor Totoro are lined up.

Go up the stairs and head to TOLO COFFEE & BAKERY on the second floor.

The inside of the shop is like this.

Sit in a double seat by the window.

This is the menu. Lunch menus such as homemade pasta lunch are lined up.

I found the word 'Totoro cream puff' at the right end of the menu. On the day I went to the store, there were custard & fresh cream (400 yen), strawberry cream (440 yen), chocolate cream (400 yen), and matcha cream (440 yen). Shirahige's cream puff workshop has a seasonal menu, and strawberry cream was originally a menu from January to May, but it was still on sale in June, so this time I ordered custard & fresh cream and strawberry cream. I'll try.

After a few minutes of waiting, the custard & fresh cream and strawberry cream I ordered came.

Strawberry cream on the left, custard & fresh cream on the right. It is so cute and reproducible that you want to scream. Totoro-shaped cream puffs are technically difficult and require a lot of work, so mass production is impossible. It is perfection because it is carefully handmade one by one.

Back view.

The size is smaller than iPhone 5.

First of all, I will look at it from custard & fresh cream.

Perfect form even when viewed from the side.

The leaves and eyes on the head are chocolate.

It's a waste to eat, I want to see it forever ... ... I think, but I will never put a fork in my mind.

Gusah

Somehow I couldn't bear to see it from the front, so when I cut it backwards, the cross section looks like this.

If you cut it into small pieces, you can eat it without feeling guilty. The choux skin is crispy, and although it's not the soft type, it's not hardened, and it has a light and gentle fragrance. The smooth custard cream had the scent of vanilla beans, and when combined with fresh cream, it had a mellow taste that was not too sweet.

The shoe skin looks like this.

It was delicious to the ear.

Next, strawberry cream.

I can't stand cutting from the front, so I'm going to cut it backwards.

Strawberry cream inside looks like this.

The cream that mixes fresh cream with 'Sachi no Kaichigo' from Wakayama Prefecture is extremely fluffy. It is said that nothing other than granulated sugar and strawberry liqueur is added, so there is no artificial strawberry flavor, and it was unexpectedly delicious because I imagined 'commercially available strawberry-flavored cream puffs'.

When viewed from the front, it looks like you want to apologize, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry,' but I was able to enjoy both light and gentle cream puffs.

There are many delicious looking breads in front of the cash register.

There were not only two seats but also four seats at the table.

The ceiling chandelier looks like this. The inside of the shop has an atmosphere that

makes you want to listen .

Picture books are also available, so you won't get bored even if you visit alone.

So I will go down to the first floor again.

At Shirahige's Cream Puff Factory on the 1st floor, you can purchase cream puffs and baked sweets to take home.

In addition to the two types I ate at the cafe, chocolate cream and ...

There was a cream puff of matcha cream.

Looking at the wall of the shop ......

Autographed colored paper is lined up, and the tension goes up.

The baked sweets were also

in the shape of mushrooms and leaves that looked like they came out of a picture book, so they were perfect for souvenirs.

The shop is open from 10:30 to 19:00 and is closed on Tuesdays. Seasonal cream puff sales may change, so if you are interested, please check with the store before visiting.
