Production history
Since 1988, the "Mobile Police Patlabor" series has developed media mixes such as comics, videos, movies, novels. A work that won many fans beyond generations and recorded a hit remaining in the history of animation. After 25 years since birth, Mamoru Oshii who supervised the TV version and the movie version welcomed him,Real life with a completely original new work replaced generationsDecided to do.
Even though 20 years ago there was a plan to realize live action, at that time video technology could not catch up and it did not come true. Currently CG and VFX technologies have advanced, real life has become possible.
◆ About setting and Labor
It is the 3rd generation original new work whose character changed generation,It is not remake of old animation. The era setting is 2013. For details, please direct from Oshii later.
For Labor, we created two 98-inch ingrams with a total length of 8 m, as many sightings are already on the net. One body is standing at this venue, and the other is a Labor on the transporter.
◆ Work format and publication method
Combine the whole series of 12 stories + 0 story of about 48 minutes and 1 feature of about 100 minutes. Although this project is a completely original new work which changed generations in generation 3, can you ask about "third generation"?
Oshii:
What I thought at the beginning of the project was contradictory, how to do something different from animation and how to associate with fans who came for 25 years in animation. The solution, the answer is to try the third generation. Though it is out to the 2nd generation by animation though ... Mano:

The role of Mr. Fukushi is the commander. I heard that you ride a command car, but what is the ride?
Fukushi:
