Taking advantage of such experiences, we prepared the equipment for a new journey. Please let me introduce your commitment to bicycles and camping equipment of travel at this time.

It took me three years to ride a bicycle from Japan to South Africa. Since the backlash brought heavy use of the bicycle, the whole was disassembled for re-departure and assembled with new parts. · Drive system

I am making it to the 27th speed of the 3rd speed before and 9th speed after it. It seems that the 10th speed is also being sold, but supplementation seems to be difficult. I was wearing the pedal of PD-A 520 by "the tread surface increased more than before" by the word. Although it is a single-sided SPD, there is no problem as it will not be removed if you are overseas if you are out of town.

The rear derailleur is M772 of Deore XT.


To prevent scratches by the chain, I wound the frame with old tube and vinyl tape.


Because we are wearing a geladded saddle and cycle pants, there is no problem even if you are rowing for a long time.


· Handle around

I am doing a butterfly handle to increase the position during driving. Since it is rolling bar tape, it fits even when holding the handle. It is easy to change the place you grasp while driving. I think that the best choice is a drop handle that is easy to forward.

The backward confirmation is perfect with a mirror for a motorbike that boasts. I got a brake lever for a motorcycle in Benin, Africa and attached a mirror. We made a wheel with Shimano's "Deore XT" hub, Sunling's "Rhino Light" rim, DT Swiss's "Champion 2.0" spoke. I left the finish of the rear wheel to the shop, but it is somewhat uneasy as it is a wheel that I made by myself. The hole of the rim was a French valve, but it was expanded so that the American valve could be used. French valves are often scared from the root and are scary. Since I also have an air pressure gauge, I put the air pressure high. Traveling is also light when the air is properly in.


The tires use Schwalbe's "marathon". Selection of tires is important as it carries heavy loads. The tires made in China that I bought in Zimbabwe were worn out in a day. A good tire has more than 10,000 km.


Use a hex wrench for attaching and detaching the wheel. It takes time and effort, but if it is a quick lease, theft is uneasy.


With the normal quick lease lever like this, you can attach and detach the wheel without tools. However, if it is this, it will be stolen if you do not lock every wheel.

· Career

The skeleton that puts the luggage on the bicycle becomes the carrier. When I started around the world, I used Japanese-made Nitto Campy for the front and rear wheels. However, this was broken and broken, I was in trouble. If you break it, you will find a factory for auto repair and weld it. If it is a developing country, there will be no cost to that.

I used German tubes for my previous career. Nitto Campy which broke and folded and welded repeatedly was newly brought up in Germany. There are things that many of the chariders traveling the world use, and trouble has not occurred either.


The back career is Japanese-made Nitto Campy from the journey. It is not a problem whether behind the carrier does not put too much burden.


I wrap a fluorescent tape around the carrier and make it stand out even at night.

· Bottle gauge

Currently I have 8 bottle gauges on my bicycle. It is a tool box with tools, a bottle containing detergent for laundry, a gasoline bottle of cooking stoves, and water is not the only use. Even if it is water, the size is different from 1.5L PET bottle, thermos bottle, heat resistant bottle. We need water not only for drinking water but also for washing our hands, we divide the bottle.

Minolaura 1.5L bottle gauge can carry large capacity water. There is a similar bottle gauge in the topic, but the part fixing the cap was weak and it broke. Although this also does not say that it corresponds also to 2 L PET bottles which are also abroad abroad.


I also attached a minora adapter to the back of the saddle and attached two bottle gauges.


It is convenient to have 1L bottle gauge. Currently 1 L of thermos are inserted. In the past I was putting 1 liter heat-resistant bottle of Mont Bell.

I also attached one to the handle. With this you can supply water while running.

There are also smaller tents, but because it will be a long journey, emphasis is placed on comfort.

Let's lay a ground seat when the tent is stretched. As water does not come in, holes will not open, and it will also be a measure against the cold. We processed the blue sheet and made it just right size.


A rubber string is stretched inside the tent. I put handkerchiefs on my hands and wipe my hands, and hanging the spread bags. Because it is inside a tent that makes it messy, I would like to use the overhead free space well.


Using washing clothes at the entrance of the fly sheet makes it easy to open and close.


I put a padlock on the tent zipper. If you do not have it, you will be worried so that you can be relieved.


We made it possible to distinguish tent body and fly sheet by color. It would be nice to cover the entrance, but if the wind blows or darkens it will not work. But, it is very easy to wear it if you keep it like this.


The pole of the tent is fixed with a Velcro.


I attached a carabiner lock to the peg that fixes the tent body and flight seat. I wound a fluorescent tape around so that I could find it quickly even if I lost it. I flew somewhere with rubber tension and lost it. Please also make more colorful pegs.


So I will try to connect with carabiner lock this time. This will not go away.


I can not sleep without putting a tent and laying a mat. I have been using the mat that I got at department store in Indonesia forever. Although I am not satisfied with my comfort, I am worried about what to do as a foldable air-style mat because it is troublesome as it becomes one baggage alone.


And another thing is necessary for entering and exiting the tent is sandals. It is troublesome to wear shoes one by one. Because I am using SPD shoes for running, the street walking is also this sandal. I was singling alone in Europe when it got cold.

Sleeping bags made by manufacturers are also nice. Friends who used sleeping bags of mass retailers in Australia at the same temperature seemed to be cold.


The new sleeping bag is comfortable. Since North America started the cold season, I also have a sleeping bag cover.
