NEC's new product is satellite, Hayabusa's know-how satellite "NEXTAR"
NECDevelopment of asteroid explorer "Hayabusa"By making the best use of the findings obtained in the previous section, standardization of its basic technology has made it possible to produce satellites much cheaper and lighter than before. The company is planning to make the exploration satellite a new product by selling this to companies that need satellites around the world.
Of this timeCEATEC JAPAN 2011So, NEC's new commercial standard satellite bus system"NEXTAR"There was a model on display.
Standard satellite bus system NEXTAR: Bus system | NEC
This is a form of "NEXTAR" model of a satellite for "high resolution optical observation mission".
NEXTAR is a general-purpose compact satellite that supports a wide range of missions by adding optional equipment, necessary software packages, boards, etc., based on the standard model. This square is the basic standard bus module.
Depending on the mission, the solar panel needs to be movable, so the bus module is designed to accommodate the movable solar panel as well.
This is a part of the telescope. The form for this "high resolution optical observation mission" can observe the ground with a resolution of less than 50 cm.
In addition, it is possible to change options according to the application, such as map preparation, disaster monitoring, crop management, etc., and apply it to various fields.
Compared with conventional artificial satellites of the same use, it seems that the price is reduced by a factor of about 1, and the weight has been reduced from a half to a quarter. Furthermore, if more packages are put into practical use, it would be possible to further reduce the price.
We are planning to launch the NEXTAR earth observation satellite "ASNARO" using NEXTAR after December 2012, when NEXTAR is already in operation. In the past, it was common for companies that received orders from the country to make custom-made satellites according to the purpose, NEXTAR aims to industrialize this, and for example, artificial satellites such as Asia and Africa It is possible to think of selling small and inexpensive satellites to emerging countries that do not have satellites.
NEC's interactive digital signage "MultiTouchWall (tentative name)" was also exhibited according to the exhibition related to Hayabusa.
"MultiTouchWall" is a huge digital signage of touch type combined with 8 panels. You can recognize up to 2 touch points, intuitively move photos and images, enlarge or reduce.
You can move the image by touching the image with a single finger.
You can enlarge or reduce the image by touching it like pinching with 2 pcs.
It seems that this "MultiTouchWall" has already been introduced to the customer conference room floor in Shinagawa new company of Microsoft Corporation.
