Toshiba gas tank "Gasometer" rebuilt into a complex building renovated to gothic and full of futuristic sense

"Gasometer" means "gas tank" in English. It is a nickname for this complex building as it is. The inside is said to be divided into three layers, entertainment facilities, office area, residential area from the bottom.

We are repairing the outer wall of the gas tank built at the end of the 19th century and using it as it is. It is also designated as an important cultural property in 1978.


Looking at the distance, it looks quite gasy.


Viewed from the top. You can see that it was a perfect circular gas tank.

It was built from 1896 to 1899 and finished the role as gas tank in 1984.


The annex built to be more contested is fairly modern in design and you can enjoy the contrast.
