Living in the Netherlands' Futuristic Homes

Looking down on the outskirts of Stolnghenberg from the sky, a somewhat strange sight is visible.

It is a mysterious building that looks like a golf ball, a near future home appearing in a science fiction novel, as an alien space ship ... ....

All of these,BOLWONINGEN(Borvoningen) is a house for human beings.

About one hour from Amsterdam, Volvonningen consists of 50 cement spheres.

The outer wall made of cement,Glass fiberIt is supposed to be reinforced by.

Borvoningen is a Dutch artistDoris CraykampDesigned by Mr. and built in 1984.

It seems that subsidies from the Dutch government were provided to the building.

Eleven circular windows are installed in the building in total, so that we can incorporate a lot of outside light.

The interior is divided into three layers, the first floor is the bedroom and the second floor is the bathroom.

The third floor is the residence space. The diameter of a sphere placed on a cylindrical foundation is about 5.5 meters, the total floor area is 55 square meters and the living space is small, and it is a house for a single person or a couple household.

It is Borvoningen that gives an unusual atmosphere to the viewer, Mr. Craykamp says that he designed it for the purpose of having residents get familiar with nature.

Round windows can see the surrounding landscape from every angle ......

Residents can look at the beautiful canal next to Bolvonningen.

Borvoningen seems to want to live once, but too many skylights cause leaks, and there are disadvantages such as the sound is easy to reflect because of the spherical shape.

Volvonningen was unpopular to the inhabitants who had lived at the beginning of construction, but in recent years it is gaining popularity from creative people who think "I want to live in an unusual housing", and it seems to be restoring again.
