I tried reusing the skills I actually performed with 'Hermes Agent,' an AI agent that grows the more you use it, by turning those skills into actual tasks.

Last time, I installed the AI agent 'Hermes Agent' and had it investigate articles on GIGAZINE. It encountered some trial and error, such as failing to perform browser operations and opening articles other than the one it selected, but it eventually succeeded in finding the target article and summarizing its contents. Hermes Agent has a function that allows you to save the steps taken and troubleshooting methods used in actual tasks as 'skills' and reuse them in other sessions. So this time, I will actually turn the series of tasks from last time—finding an article on GIGAZINE and summarizing its contents—into a skill and see how the previous experience will be utilized when I ask it to do a similar task in a new session.

The previous article is as follows:

We actually tried out 'Hermes Agent,' an AI agent that grows the more you use it, on Windows, from installation to web searching and browser operation - GIGAZINE

Since I reset the Hermes Agent after creating the last article, I'll start by following the same procedure as last time. Just like last time, after having it search for the latest articles on GIGAZINE, when I asked it to summarize the most interesting articles, it made the same mistake of opening a different article by entering the wrong URL.

However, this time I'm having trouble reaching the individual pages. I keep getting a message saying 'Unable to open article,' but I know from the previous article that 'you have the ability to do it if you try,' so I'll encourage you to 'try your best to open the article you've chosen.'

Ultimately, I was able to successfully open the correct article. However, if I have to repeat similar tasks in the future, it would be troublesome to have to help every time a problem occurs.

That's where Hermes Agent's 'skill creation' feature comes in. After having it summarize the article, I sent a prompt in the reply saying, 'Please save the work you did today, including any failures that occurred along the way and how they were resolved, as a skill that can be used next time,' and the task of creating the skill began.

Perhaps due to the performance of the AI model being used, it sometimes failed to complete the task in a single prompt, requiring responses such as 'Continue' or 'Please' along the way.

Ultimately, they succeeded in turning it into a skill.

The created skills include things like 'When to use it,' 'Basic procedures,' and 'Examples of problems and solutions.'

Let's put the skills to the test right away. I clicked 'New session' to open a new session, and typed in the following: 'Search for GIGAZINE and summarize the information about the latest articles. From those, choose the most interesting article and summarize it.' Then I submitted it.

It detected and loaded the skill I just created.

It was as if all the struggles I'd had earlier had never happened; I was able to open and summarize the target article in one go.

Next time, we'll explore which features are useful when automating daily tasks with Hermes Agent. Stay tuned!
