Taste test review of 'Curry House Curry EX,' a premium, high-quality ready-to-eat curry.

Curryya Curry is a classic retort curry series from House Foods. A new, more luxurious version, ' Curryya Curry EX ,' was released on August 10, 2026. It uses 29 different spices to create an authentic flavor that is difficult to replicate at home. Two varieties, medium and hot, were released simultaneously, so I tried both.

The medium-spicy version is characterized by the 'savory flavor of slowly sautéed caramelized onions.'

The dry version is advertised as having 'the delicious flavor of three types of bouillon.'

Looking at the ingredients for the medium-spicy (top) and spicy (bottom) versions, the medium-spicy version contains sautéed onions, while the spicy version contains chicken broth, broth, and pork broth. This shows that the difference is not just in the level of spiciness, but also in the overall flavor.

When you try the medium-spicy version, you can taste the sweet curry sauce along with the tingling sensation of pepper. Although they say they use 29 different spices, it doesn't taste like an 'exotic spice curry,' but rather like a 'classic European-style curry,' making it a flavor that anyone can enjoy without feeling out of place. The potatoes and carrots are cut into large pieces, and there are plenty of ingredients, so it's very satisfying.

The spicy version includes not only pepper but also chili peppers for a more intense kick. The editors who sampled it commented, 'It tastes like the usual Curry House curry with an added layer of umami,' and 'I'm happy that it has plenty of chunky ingredients.'

The spicy version is rated '4' out of 5 on House Foods' spiciness scale, which might be a little underwhelming for those who love spicy food. I recommend adding House Foods' '
