The setting of the original novel is the cybernetic city of Chiba City. The city shown at the beginning of the movie has signs in Japanese, indicating that it is a Japanese city.
Running through the bustling streets filled with food stalls, as if being chased by something, is young computer cowboy Case (played by Callum Turner).

The original novel was published in 1984 and won the Nebula Award , the Philip K. Dick Award , and the Hugo Award . Although there have been rumors of a film adaptation of this work many times, it has not come to fruition for various reasons. In particular, it is said that the movie ' The Matrix ' originally started as a project to adapt 'Neuromancer' into a film. Also, the movie 'Johnny Mnemonic, ' which starred Keanu Reeves, who played the lead role in 'The Matrix,' and Beat Takeshi, is a film adaptation of the short story 'Johnny Mnemonic,' which is a prequel to ' Neuromancer .'
Author William Gibson commented to BlueSky, 'Anyone who doesn't understand how deeply satisfied I was throughout the entire production process doesn't understand what I look for most in a film adaptation. Well, those kinds of misunderstandings happen often.'

The drama will consist of 10 episodes in total, with episodes 1 and 2 being released simultaneously on January 22, 2027. Subsequent episodes will be released one at a time every Friday.
