'The Space Project' is a space economy simulator that allows you to observe from a god's-eye view how hundreds of autonomous ships engage in trade, mining, cargo transport, and base abandonment.

A simulator called ' The Space Project ' has been released, which allows users to observe hundreds of autonomous spacecraft navigating the solar system and establishing their own economic zones.

In The Space Project, every spaceship is controlled by its own AI. Each spaceship has its own funds, crew, fuel, etc., and maintains itself by producing resources, upgrading, and trading with other ships.

A key feature of these systems is that the existence of hundreds of spaceships automatically creates large economic zones. Occasionally, spaceships may run out of fuel, or crew members may become dissatisfied and migrate to other ships. Market prices for products are automatically determined, highly profitable trade routes naturally emerge, and a fluid economic zone develops as specific factions implement taxes and subsidies.

The demo project reportedly has approximately 485 AI agents in operation (282 spaceships, 93 facilities, 27 population groups, 8 factions, and 60 celestial bodies). It is designed to be expandable to over 100,000 agents.
According to the developers, The Space Project was created in collaboration with Claude. The developers stated, 'Currently, it's a sandbox simulator, not a game, and we're not actively developing it with the goal of completing it as a product. Rather than letting it sit dormant in a private repository, we decided to release it so that someone could use it.'
