Civilization-like 3D strategy game 'FCIV.NET' review that can be played in a browser for free

A 3D version of `` Freeciv (FCIV) '', an open source free game similar to `` Civilization '', a famous turn-based city-building strategy game, has been released. I actually touched what kind of game it is.

FCIV.NET 3D browser version of the turn-based strategy game Freeciv.

https://www.fciv.net/

First, access the above URL, enter your name and click 'Start Game'.

Game Start. Tabs and chat logs such as cities and research are displayed in the upper left, the map and your unit in the center, and the world map in the lower left. In FCIV.NET, you can operate units and select science and technology to research each turn, and 'defeat all cities and units of other civilizations' or 'develop science and technology to the space age and become Alpha Centauri' We aim to meet the conditions of 'advance'. If neither condition is met and turn 5000 is reached, the civilization with the highest score at turn 5000 wins.

Since it is a 3D version, it is characterized by being able to move around the map.

Only one unit is displayed on the square on the map, but there are actually multiple units in one square. You can For example, the square below has 5 units.

Drag the unit on the map to move the unit to another square.

Repeat the flow of clicking the unit from the bottom right and dragging the unit on the map to scatter the units on hand in various directions. When the unit moves, the map will open according to the unit's field of view.

On your first turn you should build a city. Click Settlers on the map and click 'Build city'.

Enter the name of the city and click 'Ok'.

The Settlers disappear and a city is built on the same square. Below is an overview of the city.

Units can be created in cities. Click 'Production' to display the production screen.

Click the unit you want to produce, this time 'Warriors' and click the left arrow.

Added to the production queue. It is a mechanism that a warrior is born in the city when the necessary turn passes.

Click Turn Done when you have nothing to do.

Basically Explorer (explorer) is OK if you set 'Auto explore'. You can move around freely and expand your field of vision.

During the game, you will encounter units from other countries quite often. Units of other countries that face our units will basically try to establish diplomatic relations.

From 'Add Clause', players can decide negotiation materials for their own country and other countries.

Concluding a cease-fire (truce negotiations), demanding visibility, demanding a mission, handing over a mission from here, or exchanging money. We will select negotiation materials that the partner country will be satisfied with.

If you click 'Accept treaty' with the other country thumbs up, you will have diplomatic relations with that country. Basically, in the early stages, negotiations cannot be concluded unless the partner country is set up to be advantageous, so if it is troublesome, one way is to choose 'Cancel meeting'.

Workers are moved to waterfronts and resource icon squares.

Depending on the icon, it is possible to make labor such as 'Mine' and 'Irrigation'.

'Happiness ranking' is displayed every 100 years (10 turns).

Information that can be viewed from the upper left tab is 'Government' that determines policies etc.

'Research' to explore unknown information

'Nations' to know information about other countries

'Cities' to know the information of the city of your country, etc. Other detailed rules can be confirmed from 'Manual'.

Anyway, the movement is mussari and it is difficult to play, but you can enjoy the gameplay similar to Civilization.

The 2D version of FCIV has also been released. FCIV.NET is a fork of Freeciv-web introduced below.
