Google's 24/7 AI agent, Gemini Spark, is now available in Japanese.

Gemini Spark ' in Japanese on July 16, 2026. Gemini Spark is a personalized, 24/7 AI agent that can perform various tasks through natural language interaction.




Gemini Spark is a system that uses virtual machines on Google Cloud to execute tasks specified by the user. Even when smartphones or PCs are turned off, it can continue to process tasks autonomously 24 hours a day by utilizing virtual machines in the cloud. Unlike traditional chatbots that wait for user instructions before responding, Gemini Spark can proactively execute multi-step tasks and allows for complex automation settings while interacting with it using everyday language.

Gemini Spark was initially rolled out to testers, and its availability was later expanded to include Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States. Then, on July 16, 2026, Japanese-speaking users who are subscribed to Google AI Ultra also became able to use Gemini Spark.

To use Gemini Spark, open the Gemini app and switch to 'Spark Beta' from 'Chat'.



Gemini Spark can handle complex tasks by integrating with Google Workspace, Google Photos, YouTube, search services, and more. You can pre-configure which apps to integrate with Gemini.



Enter prompts to create tasks and schedules. While traditional chat applications primarily focus on completing tasks using existing data, Gemini Spark allows you to set future tasks by aggregating data that will be acquired in the future and deriving tasks from it.



For example, in the case of a task like 'check the content of replies to attendance confirmation emails and compile everyone's attendance,' Gemini Spark will perform the task of 'updating Google Sheets as soon as a reply is received in Gmail' in the background 24 hours a day.



Gemini Spark operates autonomously, but can be configured to prompt the user for confirmation before performing important actions, so there's no need to worry about 'unintended tasks being executed without your consent.' Furthermore, even when given a task to read emails in conjunction with Gmail, it operates to assist with email management based on instructions, and does not read emails indiscriminately.

Gemini Spark runs on Gemini 3.5 Flash and Antigravity. As of the time of writing, Gemini Spark is only available within the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra users. There are two Google AI Ultra plans available in Japan: 'Google AI Ultra 5x' at 14,500 yen per month and the top-tier 'Google AI Ultra 20x' at 32,000 yen per month.
