French AI company Mistral AI has announced ' Robostral Navigate, ' an AI model for automated robot navigation. By integrating Robostral Navigate into robots, it becomes possible to give movement instructions in natural language, such as 'Turn right before the lockers and go straight to the orange sofa.'

Building a robot navigation system often requires advanced sensors such as LiDAR. Robostral Navigate can perform navigation based on natural language instructions and RGB images captured by a camera. The model has 8 billion parameters.
By integrating Robostral Navigate into a robot, it becomes possible to automatically determine a route based on natural language instructions such as 'turn right before the lockers, then turn left and go straight to the orange sofa,' along with camera images.

It can also automatically avoid obstacles.

High-precision navigation is possible regardless of the robot's size. It supports three modes of movement: wheeled, walking, and flying.
