Burger King's summer-only menu item, the ' BBQ Steak Whopper ,' was released on June 19, 2026. The ' Double BBQ Steak Whopper ' with two beef patties and the ' Cheese BBQ Steak Whopper ' with cheese were also released at the same time, so I tried all three to see how they tasted.

I ordered a burger and brought it to go.

This time, I ordered two each of the 'BBQ Steak Whopper,' 'Double BBQ Steak Whopper,' and 'Cheese BBQ Steak Whopper' to take home.

This is the BBQ Steak Whopper. You can see the beef patty coated in a special brown BBQ spice sauce.

The beef patty is topped with layers of beef brisket steak, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Two types of sauces are used: a white mayonnaise sauce and a brown special BBQ spice sauce.

The beef brisket steak comes in a finely cut state. The American beef brisket steak is seared over an open flame until browned, and then cooked using a combination of vacuum cooking and oven baking to lock in the meat's flavor.

The beef short rib steak is interesting because it has a mix of tender fat and lean meat that releases its savory flavor, and the texture changes with every bite. The special BBQ spice sauce is a blend of sweet BBQ sauce and pepper and other spices, resulting in a spicy and sweet flavor that leaves your tongue tingling. The editors who sampled it commented, 'The nicely browned parts of the steak are fragrant and delicious,' and 'The mix of fat and lean meat gives it a feel similar to yakiniku kalbi.'

Burger King's double-beef burgers often have a strong flavor from the flame-grilled beef patties, making it difficult to taste the other ingredients. However, the Double BBQ Steak Whopper features a distinctive beef brisket steak texture that holds its own against the two beef patties.

Finally, I'll try the Cheese BBQ Steak Whopper.

The basic composition is the same as the BBQ Steak Whopper, with the addition of two slices of cheddar cheese.

The special BBQ spice sauce flavor is quite prominent, and the cheddar cheese flavor is hidden in the background. The cheese flavor is barely noticeable; you have to search for it, and it seems to be helping to temper the spiciness of the pepper.
