Gerrymandle is a puzzle game where you draw electoral district boundaries and aim to win elections by securing more seats than your opponents.

' Gerrymandle ' is a puzzle game where you click on hexagonal tiles on the screen to divide the electoral districts yourself and help the blue team win. A new puzzle is presented once a day, and you can play it quickly and for free in your browser.

When you access Gerrymandle, a pop-up will appear, so click 'Play'.

The game screen looks like this. 'VOTERS' shows the number of eligible voters, and 'DISTRICTS' shows the number of votes in each electoral district. The game is cleared when the blue area exceeds a majority in the DISTRICTS.

Gerrymandle combines adjacent hexagonal tiles into a single electoral district by clicking on three hexagonal tiles on the screen. The hexagonal squares are marked with blue or red symbols, which indicate whether the voters living in that area support blue or red. A blank hexagonal square means there are no voters.

The number of voters is counted for each electoral district, and the party with the most votes in that district wins the district. Then, the supporting faction for that electoral district is determined according to the number of voters in that district. For example, if you click on the three squares below, there are 2 blue votes and 1 red vote, so blue wins by majority vote. The supporting faction for this electoral district becomes blue, and as you can see in DISTRICTS, blue wins 1 seat.

If there is one vote for blue and two for red, red wins by majority vote and gains one seat.

If there is one blue vote, one red vote, or no votes, it will be a tie, and neither blue nor red will win that constituency.

However, in this case there are only two voters in one electoral district, so we click on an adjacent square to increase the number of voters to three. In the following case, there will be 2 blue votes and 1 red vote, so blue wins.

If you're unsure where to click, clicking 'Hint' will show you just one electoral district.

In this way, we divide the electoral districts so that blue represents the districts that secure a majority.

Once all squares have been assigned to electoral districts, click 'Submit'.

After clearing the challenge, a pop-up window like the one below appeared. The challenge is presented once a day, so if you're interested, please try it every day.
