According to the Financial Times , if Apple raises prices, it's almost certain to impact iPhones. TechCrunch points out that since Apple releases a new iPhone every September, there's a high probability that the price increase will be announced at the September 2026 launch event.
According to estimates by research firm TechInsights, Apple will need to raise the price of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro by $200 (approximately 32,100 yen). At the time of writing, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 (179,800 yen in Japan). The price increases will be particularly noticeable for memory and storage, with memory estimated to rise from $39 (approximately 6,300 yen) on the iPhone 17 Pro to $145 (approximately 23,300 yen) on the iPhone 18 Pro, and storage from $13 (approximately 2,100 yen) to $51 (approximately 8,200 yen).

At WWDC26 , held in early 2026, Apple announced several AI features, including 'Siri AI,' which integrates Siri and Apple Intelligence. Running these features on devices requires increased memory capacity. However, this would mean consumers would have to pay the cost of that increased memory.
