Google claims that Outsider Enterprise was distributing a phishing kit called 'Outsider.'

Outsider was a tool that allowed even those without programming knowledge to easily create phishing sites, providing website templates that mimicked banks and government agencies, as well as a dashboard for tracking victims' activities.

Furthermore, Outsider Enterprise also released a tutorial video showing how to create a website using Google's AI 'Gemini.' It reportedly introduced how to use Gemini and instructed users to 'create a phishing site by pasting the code generated by Gemini into Outsider.'

In addition, Outsider had a feature that allowed it to attach the Google logo to phishing emails it sent to increase their credibility. If victims clicked on the links in these emails and mistakenly entered their credit card numbers or two-factor authentication codes, believing them to be legitimate sites, their information would be stolen by criminals.

According to Google, 55,000 suspicious messages related to Outsider Enterprise were reported in just two weeks, from May 18 to June 1, 2026. This organization is suspected of having already defrauded more than 100,000 people and being involved in at least 36,000 credit card frauds.

Google blocked Outsider Enterprise's access to Google Drive after discovering that Outsider Enterprise was storing information there, and also blocked several websites associated with Outsider Enterprise.

Google then filed a lawsuit seeking redress, alleging that the company had used its services for criminal purposes and used its logo without permission to damage its reputation.

Google explains that it is working with telecommunications companies such as AT&T and T-Mobile, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to block phishing emails. It also states that it is using AI-powered tools to combat AI-powered scams, and that this is how the company is blocking more than 10 billion fraudulent messages every month.

In addition to the lawsuit, Google has also proposed legal reforms to address the threat posed by AI. Several federal lawmakers have endorsed the bill, with comments such as, 'I am very pleased to see how proactively Google has come to protect hardworking Americans.'
