Later, in June 2025, Miyamoto announced via Nintendo's official X (formerly Twitter) account that the theatrical release date had been changed to May 7, 2027, due to production issues.

This is a little later than we had previously announced, but we want to take ample time to make it the best it can be. Please give us just a little more time.

Then, on May 14, 2026, Miyamoto announced again via Nintendo's official X account that the worldwide theatrical release date for the live-action film 'The Legend of Zelda' would be moved up from May 7, 2027 to April 30, 2027.
This is Miyamoto. We have decided to change the worldwide theatrical release date for the live-action 'The Legend of Zelda' film from May 7, 2027 to April 30, 2027. The team is working together to bring the film to you as soon as possible. There is now less than a year until the release, so please wait a little longer.

Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link in the live-action film adaptation of 'The Legend of Zelda.' The official title has not yet been announced.
