The four new features are as follows:

◆1: Activating gifts using jewels
A feature allowing viewers to purchase an item called 'Jewels' and use them to buy 'Gifts' to send to streamers has been available in the US for some time. This feature was previously limited to vertical live streams, but it will now be available for horizontal live streams as well. It will also be available in Canada and South Korea, and is planned to be rolled out to even more countries in the future. The availability in Japan is currently unknown.

◆2: Provide ad-free windows to Super Chat and gift purchasers.
An update is being rolled out gradually that will automatically create a 'dedicated ad-free window' immediately after a viewer sends a gift to a streamer via Super Chat or other means. The details of this window are not explained. This feature will only work if the streamer has automatic ads enabled.

◆3: Turn off ads the moment the excitement builds up.
When a live chat reaches its peak, the system detects this and pauses ad playback for all viewers. YouTube emphasized, 'This allows us to maintain the momentum of the entire community without interruptions from ads.'

◆4: Customize the delivery to suit any screen.
Features that allow you to change the screen size and use multiple stream keys are provided, making it possible to simultaneously stream completely different content in both portrait and landscape formats. More advanced customization features are expected to be provided in the future.

YouTube CEO Neil Mohan stated, 'Live streaming on YouTube is a very important element. We want to improve the experience and help creators earn more money.'
