Ajinomoto's frozen dumplings, 'Heavy-Duper Black Pork' and 'Heavy-Duper Shrimp,' can be easily made into juicy, meaty dumplings without the need for oil or water.

On March 8, 2026, Ajinomoto Frozen Foods released ' Heavy Dumplings: Shrimp ' and ' Heavy Dumplings: Black Pork .' As the names suggest, these dumplings are supposed to be very filling, so I decided to try them myself to see what they taste like.

On the left is the 'Hearty Large Dumpling with Shrimp,' and on the right is the 'Hearty Large Dumpling with Black Pork.'

I'll start by trying the 'shrimp' dish. The ingredients include shrimp, bamboo shoots, cabbage, and chicken.

Each piece contains 52kcal. There are 9 pieces in one bag.

Start cooking immediately after taking it out of the freezer. Place it in a frying pan while still frozen.

Close the lid and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. No oil or water is needed.

After 5 minutes, remove the lid and continue cooking until browned and the moisture has evaporated.

Once finished, cover the pan with a plate, flip it over, and serve.

It's finished.

The filling looks like this. It contains small shrimp.

The flavor is bursting with the rich aroma of shrimp. You can fully enjoy the plump texture of the shrimp and the crunchy texture of the bamboo shoots. The taste is such that the shrimp and bamboo shoots are equally prominent. The dumplings have a chewy wrapper, crispy edges, plump shrimp, and crunchy bamboo shoots, resulting in a dumpling that offers a variety of textures to enjoy. The flavor is quite strong, so you can enjoy it without any dipping sauce.

Next, we sampled 'Kurobuta' (black pork). The ingredients include pork, cabbage, chives, ginger, and garlic.

Each piece contains 61kcal. This also comes in a pack of 9.

Arrange them in the frying pan in the same way and cook them.

Once the moisture has evaporated to the desired level, it's done.

When you bite into it, the skin bursts open and the meat juices gush out. It's packed with chewy meat and has a refreshing aftertaste thanks to the ginger. One editor who sampled it commented, 'The meat juices overflow like in a xiao long bao. This is the first time I've had dumplings with so much meat juice.' Another great point is that the juiciness of the meat juices remains even when it cools down.

Both the shrimp and the Kurobuta pork were great because they could be easily prepared by simply grilling them without needing water or oil. The price is open price.
