'Ad-Supported AI Chat Demo' shows what 'chat AI with ads' will be like as a working demo

While OpenAI

announced that it would be running ads on its chat AI ChatGPT , Anthropic has denied running ads on Claude , andPerplexity is even phasing out ads after initially introducing them . While advertising revenue seems essential to providing AI as a service, which has high implementation costs , 99helpers , an AI agent provider, has released an ' Ad-Supported AI Chat Demo ' that allows users to experience what it would be like to have ads on a chat AI, showing what would happen if ads were introduced.

You can experience the 'Ad-Supported AI Chat Demo' by visiting the URL above. The chat AI is in the red frame in the center of the screen. The two above, two to the right, and one below the chat AI are all ads.

Even just looking at the chat AI, there's a ton of advertising. Under the name of the chat AI, 'AdBot AI,' in the upper left, there's a note that reads 'Completely Free (with 47 ads).' In the upper right, there's an offer for '5 left' and 'No ads.' In the center of the screen, there's a warning: 'Warning: This AI may spontaneously recommend products at any time.' Above the prompt text box, there are multiple horizontal ads. Finally, at the bottom of the text box, there's a message that reads, 'This conversation is powered by BrainBoost Pro. Free plan with ad support. Remove ads.'

Let's actually try using the chat AI. The text box contains a warning message saying, 'Ads may be displayed!'

Ads will appear everywhere, both inside and outside of conversations with AI.

While you are entering a text prompt and waiting for your response, ads are displayed, as shown below.

99helpers explains about the 'Ad-Supported AI Chat Demo': 'As chat AI becomes mainstream, companies are facing a fundamental problem: how can they continue to provide a service for free to users while covering their enormous computing costs? Advertising is one obvious answer. This demo covers all the major advertising patterns that can be applied to chat interfaces. We built it as an educational tool to help marketers, product managers, and developers understand the landscape of AI monetization and get a glimpse into a future that users might want to avoid or embrace.'
