However, on February 4th, two days after the announcement, Adobe retracted its previous statement and stated that Adobe Animate would continue to be available. According to the announcement, Adobe Animate would enter 'maintenance mode' for all users, and while support, security updates, and bug fixes would continue to be provided, no new features would be added.

By the way, Adobe Animate originated from FutureSplash Animator , which was released by FutureWave Software as animation creation software.

In 1996, Macromedia acquired FutureWave Software and developed it as 'Macromedia Flash.' After Adobe acquired Macromedia in 2005, it began to be sold as 'Adobe Flash' in 2007. In 2016, the name was changed to the current 'Adobe Animate.'

There was a browser plugin available separately from the production software, but support for it was discontinued at the end of 2020, ahead of the production software.
