I received the message 'Your account has been suspended' on Amazon's KDP, so I've summarized the steps I took to contact them and get my account reinstated.

Below is the sign-in page for Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), which you use to publish books on Amazon. You can access your account by clicking 'Sign In' and entering your email address and password.

Normally, when you sign in to KDP, you can use the 'Bookshelf' to see a list of your published books, and the 'Reports' to see how many times your books have been purchased or read on

However, when I signed in to KDP around the end of November 2025, I received a message saying 'Your account has been suspended,' and I was no longer able to publish or review books or check reports.

Additionally, even if you access the book's product page, sales have been suspended. Below is the page for '

Also, when I accessed the product page for ' I Just Want to Bully Asahina-san, ' the following message was displayed, instead of showing any details about the book, and instead saying, 'This item is currently out of stock. There are no plans to restock this item.'

When I checked my registered email address, I found an email from Amazon about my account, saying that they had suspended my KDP account because they found 'misleading metadata' in my published book.

Two days before my account was suspended, I received a notice stating that 'we have determined that the book may be misleading to store users' and 'for this reason, the book in question will no longer be available for sale on Amazon.' It's likely that my account was suspended because I continued to publish other books after receiving this notice, but the email below was solely about 'selling the book in question' and did not include any information about the account suspension.

Additionally, when we checked the book that caused the account suspension for containing 'misleading metadata,' we found no mistakes such as 'the cover, title, or text getting mixed up with other books.' When registering a book with KDP, you must enter the title and description separately, so it's possible that there was a mistake in the information entered there, but since the account has been suspended, we can't check.
Therefore, we sent an inquiry to Amazon, asking them to explain in detail what issue this book violated that led to the immediate suspension of our account, as we would like to take proactive measures to correct the problem.
I received a reply within about two hours. The reply said, 'We have discovered that your account was suspended in error. We apologize for any inconvenience. We have reinstated your account, so you can now submit your book for publication.' They also explained that the suspension was a mistake.

However, even the day after I received the message that 'your account has been restored,' when I signed in, it still said 'your account has been suspended.'

I contacted them again, saying, 'You informed me that your account and products have been restored, but I am unable to sign in to my account and cannot access the product pages.' Approximately six hours later, I received a reply with the same message as the initial account cancellation notice: 'We have discovered that your account was suspended in error. We apologize for any inconvenience. We have restored your account and you can now submit books for publication.' When I signed in again, I was able to access the pages as usual, and all of my product pages had been restored. However, there was no explanation as to why I was unable to log in when I first contacted them to cancel the account.

The product pages have been restored, and the books are available for purchase or download on Kindle Unlimited at any time. The following books were initially identified as having 'misleading metadata,' but no corrections or republishing actions were taken and they were subsequently released as normal.
