First, open the Power-Z KM003C update information page. Scroll down to 'Version History' and click the Google Drive link to download the software and firmware to be used for the update.



Open 'PC Software'.



Select the latest software from the list for Power-Z KM003C. At the time of writing, 'V2.4.0' was the latest, so select it and click 'Download'.



Extract the downloaded ZIP file using standard Windows functions or a compatible app such as ' Explzh '.



You will be asked for a password, so enter 'chargerlab' and click 'OK'.



Launch 'Setup.exe' in the unzipped folder.



After selecting the folder in which you want to install the software, click 'Install'.



When the installation is complete, click 'Finish'.



Open the installation folder you chose and open 'Mtools.exe' to launch the software.

With Mtools open, connect the Power-Z KM003C to your PC. First, connect the USB-C cable to the auxiliary power port on the left side of the Power-Z KM003C.



Once you connect the USB-C cable to the PC with Mtools open, you're ready to go.



Once the PC and Power-Z KM003C are connected, you can display the measurement data of Power-Z KM003C in Mtools.



With the Power-Z KM003C connected, I clicked on 'Update Firmware' in Mtools and a list of available updates was displayed.



At the time of writing, the latest version was 'V1.9.5', which was updated on January 7, 2025. Click the chip icon in the upper right corner of the update information to start the update.



The update took just a few seconds.



Also, if the latest firmware is not displayed in 'Update Firmware' of Mtools, you can download it from Google Drive. Click 'Tester Firmware'.



Select 'KM003C_V1.9.5.mencypt' and click 'Download'.



Open 'Update Firmware' in Mtools and click the '+' icon.



Select the firmware you downloaded from Google Drive and click 'Open'.



Now that the firmware has been added to Mtools, you can run the update by clicking on the chip icon.
