I tried checking my account with the Firefox add-on 'Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X' that can display whether I have been shadowbanned on X/old Twitter for free on my smartphone or PC

Social networking sites such as X (formerly Twitter) impose restrictions called 'shadow bans' that prevent accounts from being used due to violations of the terms of service, as well as freezing accounts and posts from appearing in searches and on other people's feeds and timelines. Shadow bans are restrictions that are difficult for targeted users to notice, but the Firefox and Chrome app ' Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X ' can always tell you whether a specific account or post has been shadowbanned on X.

Chrome extensions can only be used on PCs, but Firefox add-ons can be used on both PCs and smartphones, so I will introduce them to Firefox and use them. Once you access the add-on distribution page , click 'Add to Firefox'.

When the following pop-up appears, click 'Add'.

When you see the message 'Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X has been added,' click 'OK' to complete the installation.

Once the installation is complete, the initial setup menu will be displayed. First, select whether you want to run a shadow ban check on all tweets and accounts, or only when you are shadow banned. Select 'Show inspection results only for problematic tweets and accounts' and click 'Next'.

Choose whether to apply the Shadowban inspection to your posts only or to all users' posts. Select 'Show inspection results to all users' Tweets' and click 'Next'.

Once the initial settings are complete, click 'Exit without opening' to complete the process.

When I clicked on the add-on icon from the toolbar of the Firefox browser, 'Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X' was added. Click 'Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X'.

You can change the settings.

When I actually tried opening

GIGAZINE's X account in a browser with Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X added, it said 'This user has not been shadowbanned.'

Also, when I opened

the post for the manga 'Let me make it! Ejima-san,' which contains some slightly sexy scenes, no particular message was displayed.

When I opened the same post with the 'Show on Tweets with no issues' option checked in the settings, I got the message 'No issues were found with the Tweet.'

Click 'Show more' to the right of 'We didn't find any problems with your Tweet.'

The following messages were displayed, indicating that the post had been posted without any problems: 'Your account has not been flagged as sensitive,' 'No media on your profile has been flagged as sensitive,' 'Your account is not blocked in any countries,' 'Your Tweets have not been flagged as sensitive,' 'There are no age restrictions on your Tweets,' and 'Your Tweets will appear in search results.'

While browsing various posts on X, I came across a post that said, 'This user may be shadowbanned, so their Tweets may not appear in search results.' I clicked 'Show more.'

Of the check items, two were detected as possible shadow bans: 'Your account has been shadowbanned or flagged as sensitive' and 'Your Tweets may not appear in search results.'

Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X can also be used with the Android version of Firefox. After opening Firefox on your Android smartphone, access

the distribution page and tap 'Add to Firefox.'

Tap 'Add' to install.

Once Shadowban Scanner for Twitter/X is installed, start the initial setup. Select 'Show scan results for all tweets and accounts' and tap 'Next'.

Select 'Show test results in all users' Tweets' and tap 'Next.'

Tap 'Exit without opening' to complete.

When I opened GIGAZINE's X account, I confirmed that the user and post had not been shadowbanned.
