Meta has reportedly blocked Pixelfed.
According to 404 Media, if you post a link to Pixelfed.social, the largest Pixelfed server launched in 2018, on Facebook, it will be considered spam and deleted.
A screenshot shared by 404 Media shows the reason for the removal reads, 'The post contains misleading links or content that may trick people into visiting or staying on the website.'
According to Bluesky user AJ Sadauskas, the post was deleted at least on January 12, 2025.
According to 404 Media, Pixelfed has seen a significant increase in users since Meta relaxed its rules on expression, which it had previously restricted, citing reasons such as diversity and fairness.
