Dell has developed several PC brands, including 'XPS', 'Inspiron' and 'Latitude'. However, all of these brands will be discontinued and replaced with three product lines: ' Dell ', ' Dell Pro ' and ' Dell Pro Max '. Specifically, the consumer notebook PC brands XPS and Inspiron will become 'Dell', the business notebook PC Latitude will become 'Dell Pro', and the mobile workstation Precision will become 'Dell Pro Max'.
In addition, three sub-tiers, ' Base ,' ' Plus ,' and ' Premium ,' will be added to each line. According to Dell, an internal survey revealed that 74% of consumers gave up on purchasing a PC because they were 'overwhelmed by the amount of information,' so this rebranding is a simplification of the model names.
In the future, PC model names will be composed of 'product line,' 'screen size,' and 'sub-tier,' such as 'Dell Pro 15 Plus,' and models equipped with a 360-degree hinge will be given the '2-in-1' designation. For example, the successor model of the notebook PC previously called 'Dell XPS 13' will be called 'Dell 13 Premium.'
One of the first PCs to be released under the new brand is the Dell 14 Plus. It is equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 and is scheduled to be released on February 18, 2025. Other models announced include the Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1, Dell 16 Plus, and Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1, with prices starting from $1,099 (about 174,000 yen) for the Dell 14 Plus, $999 (about 158,000 yen) for the Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1, $1,149 (about 182,000 yen) for the Dell 16 Plus, and $999 (about 158,000 yen) for the Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1.
In addition, Dell revealed that it will offer AMD- and Qualcomm-powered models in its consumer product lineup in the second half of 2025. Dell's gaming brand, Alienware, is not included in this rebranding.
