Huawei has not revealed any information about the SoC, but according to multiple overseas media outlets, it is believed to use the Kirin 9100 developed at the 6nm node.

Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's consumer group, has touted the phones as 'the smartest Mate series ever.'

These models also come with the company's own operating system, 'HarmonyOS NEXT,' by default. Huawei wasdesignated a 'national security threat' by the US government in 2020 due to security concerns, and US companies cannot do business with Huawei without government permission. Therefore, Huawei smartphones have previously been equipped with its own operating system, 'HarmonyOS,' instead of Android, but it has been pointed out that the early HarmonyOS is mostly just a derivative of Android.

However, Huawei, which aims to break away from Android, will announce its own OS 'HarmonyOS NEXT' in January 2024. Although Android applications will no longer be supported, it will integrate the AI infrastructure ' Harmony Intelligence ' and be able to perform various tasks such as image generation, text translation, and face detection. Huawei said about HarmonyOS NEXT, 'HarmonyOS NEXT has many features that will assist users with seamless connectivity, safer operation, and smarter functions of the device. This OS focuses on seamless interconnection of apps across multiple devices, allowing users to freely share content and connect applications across devices.'
