Below is the CSS3 logo that has been used until now. This time, the CSS-Next Community Group, the developer of CSS, has selected a new logo mark for CSS4, which will follow CSS3, and CSS5 and beyond.

The new logo mark was required to be 'easy to see even when small,' 'highly readable,' 'easy to see even without color,' 'usable with or without numbers such as 'CSS4' or 'CSS5',' and 'able to exist as an svg file.' The CSS-Next Community Group solicited new logo ideas from users, voted among users, and ultimately selected a candidate that all members of the CSS-Next Community Group could agree on.

Here's an example of a user-submitted suggestion: Adam Argyle of the CSS-Next Community Group submitted this:

Here is developer

Subramanian Srinivasan 's proposal. Srinivasan explains, 'We're using a webpage-like design while maintaining the existing shield pattern. In the upper right corner, we can display an icon indicating the CSS version.'

Srinivasan has other suggestions as well.

Designer Nils Binder came up with the following proposal, which emphasizes the fluidity of CSS by incorporating continuous lines like cascades.

Amit-Sheen 's proposal received a lot of support.

Developer

Javi Aguilar submitted the following proposal: 'Text feels easier to read if it doesn't extend beyond the borders,' Aguilar said.

Ultimately, the CSS-Next Community Group adopted Aguilar's proposal.

The revised logo based on Aguilar's proposal looks like this.

After receiving feedback from multiple users, the new CSS logo was completed as shown below. This color is called '

rebeccapurple ' and is named after Rebecca Meyer, the daughter of Eric Meyer, a designer who played an important role in the CSS community and who passed away in 2014.

The final logo is available on the following GitHub page.
