The message summary feature is one of the features of Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence is currently available in the public beta test of iOS 18, which was provided in July 2024. It will first be rolled out to U.S. users in iOS 18.1, which is scheduled to be released in October 2024, and the Japanese version is expected to be available in 2025.

Nick Spleen, who posted this, called the summary 'a fair summary.' Spleen told the news site Ars Technica that he would sum up the actual message as 'I can't believe you just did that, we're done, i want my stuff.'

Regarding the AI-summarized breakup messages, Spleen said, 'It certainly feels like a sense of distance in the news, which is not a bad thing,' but added, 'It just feels unrealistic and dystopian.'

Other notification-related features of Apple Intelligence include the ability to 'prioritize notifications and bring important notifications to the forefront.' Messages from lovers will surely be treated as important messages, so in the future, you'll likely find out about breakups through AI summaries displayed on the notification screen rather than the chat screen of the Messages app.
