I played 'Because Unsolved Cases Must Be Closed,' a game that uncovers the truth of a case based on scattered testimonies from 12 years ago.

' Because Unsolved Cases Must Be Finished ' is a game in which you unravel the truth behind the 'Saiha-chan Missing Case,' an unsolved case from 12 years ago, by relying on the memories of a former inspector who was in charge of the case and testimony from those involved. Players will approach the truth of the case by fitting together the pieces of a puzzle based on scattered testimonies.

When you start the game, a mysterious character begins with a self-admonition: 'I am a jellyfish. Looking back, I have simply drifted for over 70 years, tossed about by the waves and without direction...I have just indiscriminately stabbed everyone I met with my poisonous needles. Can you see? The people I tried to embrace only left scars...'

After that, the ghost of Seika, who looks like a police officer, and the grandmother of a former police officer, Aoi Kiyosaki, start talking about the 'Missing Seika Case.'

Perhaps due to his age, Aoi Kiyosaki says his head is like 'an old library without an index,' and his memory seems shaky.

Kiyosaki Ao tweets a meaningful line, 'As per the wish of Saiha-chan's father, Miyagi Tetsuro, that case remains...an unsolved case.'

This is where the game part begins. The player will solve the unsolved case based on the vague memories of Aoi Kiyosaki, who previously investigated the 'Saiha-chan Missing Case'. On the game screen, testimonies from people involved in the case are displayed with tags as shown below.

Each testimony is listed vertically, with the name of the testifier at the top. The leftmost column shows the testimony of 'Tetsuro Miyagi,' the father of the missing Saiha-chan.

To the right of 'Tetsuro Miyagi's' testimony is the testimony of Saihana-chan's mother. However, the mother's name is blacked out as she cannot remember it.

More and more characters appear. There is also testimony from a person who seems to be the culprit.

Within each testimony, a keyword will appear in blue text. In the example below, the keyword is '#park,' so select it and press the A button.

Then, he succeeded in remembering related testimony. Like a word association game, the way to play this game is to recall new testimony from keywords and unravel the whole picture of the incident.

Since it is unclear who is speaking in the testimony you recall, you can change the speaker by clicking the face icon displayed in the testimony.

The red text that appears in the testimony represents characters, and by selecting it you can add speakers who have not yet appeared on-screen.

You can also change the order of testimonies by selecting the icon in the upper left corner of the testimonials.

When you move a testimony to the correct position, the date and time when you heard the testimony will be displayed in yellow text as shown below. Also, by rearranging the testimonies in the correct chronological order, new testimonies will be unlocked.

Purple locked testimonies can be unlocked by entering the correct information based on other testimonies. If a testimonial cannot be unlocked, the bottom of the screen will say 'There are no clues in the memory fragments you have found.'

The red locked testimonies can be unlocked by finding a reference in other testimonies that matches the question (in the following case, 'Reasons to suspect Saihana's mother (3 points)'). If it can be unlocked, the bottom of the screen will say, 'The memory fragments containing clues have already been opened. Shall we try to find the answer now?'

In addition, the relative locations of each testimony are displayed in the bottom right of the screen, and unreleased testimonies are displayed in red, blue, yellow, or purple.

When you select a blue testimony, unlocked testimonies with related tags are displayed in white. Since there are quite a few testimonies, it is recommended that you check the map for unlocked testimonies or search for testimonies that contain the keywords needed to unlock the testimonies.

When you actually play the game, at first, new testimonies about the case are released one after another, so you can only read the testimonies about the case. Once you have a certain number of testimonies, new information will not come out unless you change the speaker of the testimony or change the timing, but from this point on, mysteries that seem like unsolved cases start to appear everywhere, such as 'This testimony will have a very different meaning if the speaker changes?' and 'Depending on the chronology of the testimony, maybe...!' At first, you can only read the testimonies, but before you know it, you'll be immersed in the investigation like a police officer trying to solve an unsolved case, which is a very pleasant experience.
