Bluesky reaches 10 million users & launches campaign to show off who you are



The total number of Bluesky users has exceeded 10 million. To commemorate this milestone, Bluesky is running a campaign where users can show off their user number.

Here's how to show off your number as a user. When you access Bluesky, a notification will appear informing you of your number as shown below, so click 'Share'.



When the post creation screen appears, click 'Post.'



Now you can show how many Bluesky users you are as follows. For an account created on April 21, 2023, you were the 29,101st user, within the first 1%.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users and I was #29,101.

If you miss the notification, you can view it by clicking the cracker icon at the top of the screen. You can also create the same post on the smartphone version of Bluesky by updating to version 1.91.1.



The total number of Bluesky users was about 6 million until around August 2024, but it rapidly increased after the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered the ban on the use of X (formerly Twitter) , and it was reported that the number of users exceeded 9 million on September 7, 2024. The momentum of increasing the number of users by 1 million in just 10 days is likely to continue in the future.
