Bluesky's total number of users has finally exceeded 9 million, and video posting function will be released soon

It has become clear that the total number of Bluesky users has exceeded 9 million. The number of users has increased rapidly following the suspension of X (formerly Twitter) services in Brazil, and the number of users has increased by more than 3 million in the past few days.

On August 31, 2024, the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered X to suspend its services. This resulted in a surge in the number of new Bluesky users, with the number of users increasing by 2 million in just one week up to September 3, 2023.

According to a post made by the Bluesky management team on September 7, 2024, the number of new users of Bluesky has reached 3 million, and the total number of users has exceeded 9 million. The post was made in English, Japanese and Portuguese, the official language of Brazil.

At the time of writing, there was a URL called ' video.bsky.app ' that looked like the official page for the video posting function, but when I accessed it, all I got was the playback page for the video in question .
