The game was released on August 24, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC, but sales have been lackluster, and the Steam version only had 697 concurrent players at its peak.
In response, Firewalk Studios game director Ryan Mills announced that the game will be taken offline on September 6, 2024 local time, and that the studio will explore options to better reach players.
'Since the launch of CONCORD on PlayStation 5 and PC, we've been listening to your feedback and we thank you for playing,' Ellis said. 'While the quality of the CONCORD experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and initial launch did not go as intended.'
Firewalk Studios has announced that it will suspend sales of CONCORD while it considers how to manage the game. It has also announced that it will offer full refunds to all purchasers, including those who have purchased the PlayStation 5 or PC version. According to Firewalk Studios, once the refunds have been processed, players will no longer be able to access the game.
